We designed the kitchen to accommodate two cooks. It is designed around a central island with Jenn-Air electric downdraft range with convection oven. Across the kitchen is a desk with pull-out keyboard tray. Lots of storage for you cookbooks or collectibles. The desk has it own under-cabinet light. The exhaust vent is on the glass top range surface and exhausts through and under-slab duct to an above ground vent.
The ceramic tiled-floor kitchen is large and open. With 4 feet of space on all sides of the island there is plenty of room to work while you entertain your guests. A 2-door Whirlpool refrigerator with in-door dispenser is included (not shown). Counter level lights are below the upper cabinets. A door at the distant left leads to the laundry room (picture below) and then to the garage. The counter top to the left of the refrigerator is lower to accommodate mixers and grocery bags.
The great room and kitchen design is very workable and also a pleasant arrangement of space as seen with the entrance from the great room to the kitchen. The open arch by the sink allows easy participation of the cook staff with guests.
This is a large kitchen designed for the working cook(s). Center island cabinets have pass-through bottom storage areas with drawer on top which opens to the front of the range.
Other cabinets have pull out trays. The upper and lower corner cabinets have full lazy Susan shelves.
The laundry room has a pantry and wash tub with hookups for washer and electric dryer. The laundry room is between the garage and kitchen–very practical for bringing groceries in from the garage.
